While we’ve spent countless hours listening to Green Day’s ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’, this is one September that you better stay awake for. The crypto community is a highly dynamic space, where things keep happening and crypto-aficionados are always on their toes. September has been the worst month for BTC since 2017.
But with 20,861 cryptocurrencies listed just on CoinMarketCap, there are 20860 other possibilities to make profits.
Here is a list of three important events happening in September 2022, that we think will boost respective assets’ prices.
It only makes sense then that iOWN choose OpenSea to list the Genesis Pool NFTs. The latest wallet update is integrated with WalletConnect (more on that later) which allows users to easily connect with OpenSea. You may preview your NFTs, offer them for sale, or auction them and gain access to OpenSea’s huge user base waiting to buy your NFTs.
The Merge of Ethereum Network
Ethereum’s long-awaited transition to the Proof-of-Stake network is all set to take place around 19th September 2022. This transition will merge Ethereum’s Mainnet with the PoS Beacon Chain. Essentially, the Proof-of-Work system will no longer be supported by the Ethereum network. This will cut down Ethereum’s energy consumption by approximately 99.95%.
Future updates would center around making the network more efficient and scalable, using sharding. It is the practice of separating a blockchain into smaller components. Shard chains will provide more storage layers, at a cheaper cost while maintaining the integrity and security of the Ethereum network. ETH has already been outperforming BTC since July, in anticipation of this change. BTC is simply a store of value, while ETH provides smart contract functionality. The near future could actually see the Flippening happen, where ETH dethrones BTC to be the biggest cryptocurrency.
However, according to Ethereum’s website, existing ETH users do not need to do anything to convert their existing coins. Your old coins will have the same value after the Merge. Moreover, you need to be wary of scams. Anyone asking you to send them ETH claiming they would change it to ETH2 is a scammer.
Cardano Network’s Vasil Upgrade
Another major cryptocurrency network that is going through a big update this September is Cardano. The Vasil hard fork aims to create a better scalable model while reducing transaction costs. This news has boosted the social presence of its native token ADA. This is a measure of the community’s interest in the token ahead of the update.
However, just like with Ethereum, Cardano has been facing technical challenges that have delayed this upgrade. But the Cardano Foundation believes it will take place by September 22nd.
Major updates for iOWN Token
September seems a promising month for iOWN Token. Our latest wallet update includes the following features:
- NFT Minting – iOWN will soon publish the iOWN NFTs under Genesis Pool on the Polygon (MATIC) Chain Mainnet.
- Reward Distribution for Staking – The rewards from the Staking reward shall be deposited directly in your wallets in the form of iOWN Tokens.
- WalletConnect Integration – iOWN Wallet can now be connected to multiple Decentralized Applications or DApps, like PancakeSwap, Uniswap, or a secondary marketplace via WalletConnect.
- New implementation & optimization for gas estimation.
All in all, September 2022 sounds like a significant month in crypto. Check out this space for further updates.
